It is with great sadness that we learned about the passing of Michigan District of Kiwanis former Executive Director Al Dailey’s passing on June 28, 2014. Al led with distinction, confidence, moral integrity and most importantly humor.
Heading up a non-profit is no easy task. You have many bosses (board of directors), many members (over 8,000) who continually seek your assistance, advice and guidance and expect you to be there to solve each and every issue 24/7. You have to know how to motivate and guide your volunteers because they are just that “volunteers”. But Al was a pro at it. He always served with a smile on his face and in turn made others smile while working alongside of him. He mentored many and will be missed.
