The 14 Brighton Kiwanis members distributed over 500 dictionaries to eight public and private schools in Brighton during in one hour. Third graders received their own personal dictionary as part of the International Dictionary Project. This is the tenth year with over 6000 dictionary provided by the Brighton Kiwanis. Student were asked to look up words to test their understanding on how the book works. They were challenged to memorize the longest work with over 1300 letters. Barbara Copenhaven, a 3rd grade teacher at Spencer Elementary School stated the dictionaries are a useful tool in her class and are used on a daily basis.
