The Kiwanis Club of Brighton will kick off their 45th season on Millpond concerts on Sunday July 10th with a new starting time of 6 PM. The concerts have been a community family tradition with music, food and classic cars on Main Street. The Millpond concerts are one of the longest running concerts in Southeast Michigan, each Sunday drawing concert goers and classic car buffs of all ages.

This year, Conely Auto is the presenting sponsor of the concerts. The Conely family wanted to celebrate a milestone of being residents of City of Brighton for 100 years and 182 years in the Brighton area. John and Jenny Conely wanted to give back to the community that they love.

Classic Cars on Main makes Downtown a hot spot to show off your classic. Auto-Lab of Howell is the Main Street sponsor, Main Street with be closed from Grand River to First Street. All cars parked on Main Street are required to remain until the concerts are over based on the safety of the concert goers and car enthusiast. ~~Unfortunately, Classic Cars on Main has been cancelled for the remained of the season.~~ (Classic Cars on Main Street was cancelled, but now it’s back on!)

The Kiwanis Popcorn wagon will return this year, as will Hungry Howie’s Pizza and Tony ‘s Dogs.
As part of the concert this season, Kiwanis has partnered with the Big Red Barrel project to collect unused medications and used needles. More details available at their tent.

The Kiwanis Club of Brighton has been serving the Brighton area since 1949, Serve the Children of the World is Kiwanis International theme. The Brighton members support the Child Life Department of C.S. Mott Hospital, Flags on Main Street, Dictionary Project, 5th Grade Spelling Bed, Hilton Cub Scouts, Aktion Club, Salvation Army, Gleaners to name a few.

The Kiwanis breakfast meetings are on the first and third Thursday at 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM at Whitney French Press Café in the Well Church. Each meeting has an interesting speaker. New members are welcome, and the Brighton Kiwanis will pay for your first-year membership dues.
